Sustainability Project
Original Inspiration:
In Process:
I started by painting a small flower on the jacket sleeve to test how the acrylic paint would work on the denim.
This is how I finished off the jacket. I think this will be a great jacket for someone because I thrifted thick, durable denim to paint on.
For this jacket I painted the whole background white first so that I could put yellow and it would show up.
I decided to make this jacket beachy because Saint Augustine has great beaches and a lot of residents visit the beach often.
I started these jeans by painting one side black to make the white pop.
After doing a white outline, I chose to do some shading strokes to make the bones look more 3D. I wanted to make these pants gender neutral to be more inclusive.

Reflection Statement:
I got clothes from the thrift store such as jeans and jean jackets and painted on them so that they are a bit more personalized. There are a lot of homeless youth in the Saint Augustine area who have been put out for reasons such as mental health or family issues beyond their control. I wanted to make something that was made with the intention that they have something handmade by someone else for them. If I were to do this again, I would go to Jacksonville to get more Jean jackets and I would just paint those and not jeans too.

Finals:
9”x14”
“Accelerated Doodles 1”
Pen on Indigo dyed fabric
6”x12”
“Accelerated Doodles 2”
Pen on Marigold and Rojo dyed fabric
Personal Project Statement:
The work conveys a feeling of escapism both through the context of doodling on loose fabrics and through the absent minded content that gets put together through my stream of consciousness drawing.

Dinner & A Movie
Deception
This piece should evoke feelings of contrast and should be unsettling. There are two knives instead of a fork and a knife to show intensity.the dark red absorbing the white flowers shows off the taking of innocence and blood that gets shed in the process. The stark contrast of the white porcelain plate and the black, crinkled background represent show how different things can be attractive together. The flowers add a different layer to the idea of deception that is present. They try to hide the knives and show a more colorful and light side, but fail in the end.
